Anglian Home Improvements are one of the longest established replacement window companies and in business since 1966 with showrooms across England and with several manufacturing facilities, the largest being in Norwich.
The company is very much focused on the residential side of the market yet is also a play with public sector and business to business contracts for their PVCu and aluminium windows.
An overview of Anglian Home Improvements
The sales message of Anglian Home Improvements is one of reputation, quality products and customer care. Despite the growth of independent window companies, since the 1980’s, Anglian still enjoys a status as one of the top ‘double glazing’ companies alongside Everest and Safestyle.
With over 21000 reviews on Truspilot, the company has a good rating. given the way they trade that’s altogether different from the independent window companies.
Providing the full range of home improvement products, from replacement windows and doors to glazed extensions, soffits and fascias, even garage doors and porches – Anglian Home Improvements aims to provide a complete home solution.
Anglian Home Improvements aluminium product range
Anglian focuses more on it’s PVCu products but there is a limited aluminium range for the home. The company does also provide timber windows as well from sustainably-sourced timber.
It’s not clear from the information provided by Anglian, how many of their products are made by them but the company proudly has a Made in Britain message as well as several Kitemarks for it’s products.
Aluminium windows
When it comes to aluminium, their range is more limited compared to other companies providing all types of residential windows in aluminium.
You’ll find standard fixed and casement windows with the option to create bay and bow windows as well. Also in aluminium the company provides secondary glazing.
Sliding patio doors by Anglian Home Improvements
A range or two, three or four panel sliding doors by Anglian provides classically styled doors but with out the lift and slide or more complex options such as structurally bonded. This range is very much intended for replacement door applications.
The products come with the usual glass options such as toughened safety glass, having a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill.
Bifolding doors by Anglian
For folding sliding doors, Anglian acknowledge the superiority of aluminium for this type of patio door and only offers an aluminium model.
Again these doors are designed for new extensions but with a strong focus on the replacement market with doors only going up to 6.2m wide and a maximum height of 2400mm that’s respectable for a bifold.
Residential doors
You’ll find single doors, French doors, matching side and top panels as well as front doors within the Anglian Home Improvements aluminium doors range.
Their doors are mostly standard residential door design with coupled frames where side or top panels are needed. Front doors are the same product provided with flat or decorative panels. There are also options for aluminium frames and sidelights but using a composite door skin within the aluminium frame.
More information about Anglian aluminium doors and windows
As an information website, wanting to represent all aluminium products, Anglian Home Improvements makes this incredibly difficult. Given the size of the company and it’s well-known name, we’ve been trying to get information on their products for years.
We’d very much like to review their products and give an accurate overview of their features and benefits. And with substantial turnover and reviews not to mention fifty years trading, there’s every reason to do so.
However, the company is more focused on arranging sales appointments rather than being helpful when asking for specific technical drawings, profile arrangement drawings and technical information. They claim this information is only held by their surveyors and nobody else. This simply cannot be true.
We cannot see how a homeowner or an architect with an interest in Anglian products, building a new extension and wanting to look at Anglian’s designs and specifications on paper can do so. Most other brands and manufacturers of aluminium windows and doors in the UK makes this information available to us or others when asked.
We know some products are designed and made by Anglian, we know they have some excellent credentials. What isn’t provided on their aluminium systems is clear information if these are their own extruded, designed and tested systems or whether they use customised profiles from other systems companies.
