As 2024 draws to a close, we take a look back at some of the best products available for windows and doors. These aren’t necessarily all-new products. However, in our view, they are worthy of consideration for your home or commercial building. Of course, these products and the many great doors and windows available in the market right now will continue to be available into 2025 as well.
Aluminium Windows and Doors of 2024
There are many fantastic aluminium windows and doors, all providing a choice of styling, durability, security and energy efficiency. However, these, in our view stand out and are genuinely different from the types of brands that are commonplace.
Sunflex SF60 and SF80 Sliding Doors
The SF60 and SF80 sliding doors from SUNFLEX are a big leap forward in premium aluminium door design. Very attractive styling and design, these German-engineered provide a top end user experience. Minimal 30mm sightlines throughout with impressive technical specifications and door panel sizes up to 6m wide and 4m tall. With dry-glazed panels that are easy to maintain, an exclusive CUBIC handle design for a sleek, contemporary look, and a range of glazing and configuration options, they effortlessly satisfy even the most demanding sliding door requirements.
SUNFLEX’s sliding doors remain a firm favourite for their exceptional quality, design, and, above all, how they feel when used. Shown here installed by HBD Systems, one of the UK’s best and most experienced SUNFLEX-approved installers.
Schüco AWS 80 Windows
The Schuco AWS 80 SC window system represents a bold step forward in modern window design, merging exceptional energy efficiency with a striking contemporary look. Smart Systems Front Doors

There is no need to buy more expensive front-door brands. Even composite doors are a bad choice when it’s possible to get all the benefits of aluminium doors for only a little more.
With better, thicker, more durable aluminium panels, advanced weather seals, and a thermal break to improve insulation, these doors enhance not only the visual appeal of your home but also he expected security, thermal performance, quality and reliability. Smart Systems designed some outstanding aluminium front doors.
Alumil Bifold and Sliding Doors
The best way to describe Alumil doors, whether bifolding or sliding, is uniqueness. Contemporary, well-designed, even better priced and a different brand from the mainstream. Suppose you are considering bifolding or sliding doors by Origin, Cortizo, Reynaers, Aluk, Smart Systems and even Schuco. In that case, you must get a quote for Alumil doors, get to see them, and try them out.

uPVC Windows and Doors of 2024
uPVC windows are now better than ever, with windows continuing to evolve and do away with the unsightly welded corners and plastic window look. Internorm uPVC windows are a firm favourite, despite them only opening inwards, and the KV series also has an aluminium-clad exterior. And it’s great to see companies like Internorm, Rehau and Deceuninck designing windows that look less like aluminium plastic windows and more like contemporary, attractive products with great attention to detail. Here are our favourite uPVC windows and doors in 2024.
Internorm KF Series
Most people lean towards the popular PVCu window brands, but Internorm, better known for its alu-timber windows, also makes a PVCu window under the KF Series. If there’s a downside, it’s an opening in only design, but the windows themselves are, in our view, some of the best PVCu windows you can buy.
With Internorm, you get a technically superior uPVC window. Every product is crafted and hand-finished to exacting standards, ensuring durability, security, and style. Standout features like the KF 520 window sash, with its seamless glass appearance and revolutionary I-tec Secure locking system, provide unmatched burglary protection and cutting-edge design.
Liniar Zero|90
Plastic windows suddenly get cool again. Liniar’s relentless innovation has positioned it as a UK leader in window and door technology. Their pioneering achievements range from the first bespoke PVCu bi-fold door to the cutting-edge Zero|90 casement window system—Passivhaus-certified and engineered to reach U-values as low as 0.66 W/m²K. By combining high energy efficiency, exceptional noise reduction, and sustainable construction that leverages recycled materials, Liniar’s Zero|90 windows retrofit seamlessly so you can upgrade your windows focused on Net Zero targets.
At the heart of the Zero|90 line is the understanding that windows should be as efficient as they are attractive. These 90mm PVCu frames with multi-chambered designs ensure outstanding thermal retention and acoustics, delivering superior energy ratings and peace of mind. Moreover, Liniar offers extensive customization in both colour and styling, allowing the Zero|90 range to suit most house styles.
Rehau ARTEVO
Like Liniar, REHAU ARTEVO is upping the image of polymers and plastics. If you’re going to use them, then let them be sustainable, high-performance, capable of bigger door and window sizes, easier to make and prettier by design. Engineered with the RAU-FIPRO X fibre composite material and incorporating LowE foil technology, ARTEVO achieves impressively low U-values, meets Passivhaus standards, and accommodates glazing up to 72mm for exceptional thermal insulation, noise reduction, and security.
ARTEVO’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its use of up to 75% recycled materials and fully recyclable LowE foil, as well as its platform design that streamlines production and reduces costs. Complementary features, such as Smart Guard for proactive security and switchable privacy glass, enhance both functionality and comfort. Combined with a range of finishes—from realistic wood effects to aluminium covers—ARTEVO delivers the perfect blend of elegance, durability, and eco-responsibility, making it a future-proof choice for the modern home. They’re very good-looking windows, too.
Rehau SLINOVA
It’s been near-impossible to get to a contemporary and stylish PVCu slimline sliding door and Rehau have got there with SLINOVA. SLINOVA is a slimline sliding door system designed to do away with the bulky perception of PVCu sliding doors. An 80mm frame depth, a flatter more squareline appearance to the frame and sash, larger door size capability and engineered from REHAU EcoPuls PVC with a high recycled content, SLINOVA is both durable and environmentally responsible.
SLINOVA comes with the usual performance, insulation and security expectations, alongside a great choice of colours, triple glazing if needed and extensive cycle testing. For standard-size openings, and where you don’t need all the bells and whistles of aluminium sliding doors, SLINOVA is an excellent choice.
Timber-look and flush casement uPVC windows
Replicating the look of timber windows is best left to the uPVC systems, and you’ll never get this level of authenticity in styling with aluminium. The best and closest, but more expensive, are timber windows themselves.
Whether you choose Evolution or Residence 9 or any of the offerings from Deceuninck, Liniar, the foils, joints, quality, and look and feel elevate these windows to something way more than a standard plastic window.
Steel Windows and Doors of 2024

Timber Windows and Doors of 2024
Warm to the touch, elegant, long-lasting and stylish. Timber windows get an unfair reputation for being high maintenance, they’re not as we explain in this article. You get a great choice of timber windows from many great manufacturers. Here are our favourites in 2024.
Bereco Windows and Doors
We love Bereco as a timber windows and doors brand because they provide the best combination of products, performance and price points. With both classically styled and contemporary windows and doors, Bereco products promise sustainable materials with a lifespan of up to sixty years.

Mumford and Wood

Whether you choose the Conservation, Classic or Heritage Range, Mumford and Wood windows are all bespoke with great attention to detail. We also love the period shopfronts made by the company, bringing a timeless style to retail premises as well as dwellings.
Composite and Hybrid Windows and Doors of 2024
Composite or Hybrid Windows and doors comprise more than one material, usually real wood inside and aluminium inside. Super thermally efficient, built to last, strong, reliable and attractive, it’s another excellent product type to consider for your home improvement project. It’s also one of the most widely used products for architect-designed homes.
Internorm KV and KF Series
Yes, it is possible to get the benefits of uPVC inside and aluminium outside. Internorm’s KV and KF Series windows and doors are contemporary and technically competent and come with tech options such as manual or automatic shading, advanced glass options and up-to-the-minute insulation and window performance.
Internorm’s four design styles—Home Pure, Home Soft, Studio, and Ambiente—offer versatile aesthetics to complement any architectural style. Home Pure is the contemporary option with clean lines. Home Soft provides a warmer look and a more rounded appearance. Studio is minimalist in appearance and more refined. Ambiente is more traditional or art nouveau-styled. And all with matching doors.
Internorm HV and HF Series
With fine wood inside and low-maintenance aluminium outside, we really like the Internorm HV and HF series, giving you the option of a flush or stepped exterior internally and a lovely lipped appearance inside.
Safe, secure, super-thermally efficient, and with shading and glass options, these are incredibly sophisticated hybrid windows that are a superb choice for any modern home. Products also include fixed, Turn and turn/tilt windows, tilt-in only, sliding windows, sliding doors, and inward and outward opening residential doors.
Velfac 200 Windows
VELFAC 200 windows look super slim from the outside with natural wood inside, combining sleek, minimalist design with outstanding performance. Their ultra-slim 54mm frames are quite a bit less than conventional casement designs. Where most other hybrid systems only have opening in windows, Velfac has a very good outward opening casement with matching residential and sliding doors.
Uniform sightlines ensure all windows and doors, whether fixed or opening, have the same elegant appearance, making them a favourite for both modern and traditional homes.
