Information about the Comar 7P.i LS+ Sliding Door.
First of all, the new Comar lift and slide door suits both the replacement of old patio doors in aluminium, PVCu or timber. It also comes designed as a direct-fix door in new extensions and building projects. This door is an addition to the broader range of patio doors by Comar, including inline sliding doors, tilt and slide patio doors, bifolding doors and residential doors.
Additionally, this door sits within the new slimline Comar ECO LT range of windows and doors. The 7P.i suite of products provides thermally efficient, secure and modern doors and windows. Furthermore, this system is widely used in commercial developments of apartments and houses. It also meets the needs of homeowners looking for affordable, high quality aluminium products with high specifications.
The LS+ patio door has lift and slide gearing. This method of operation uses the door handle to raise the door panel from the closed position and slide open. As well as this, lift and slide doors also allow the door to set down and secure in a partially open position offering an extra layer of security.
As a result, the doors can lock from the inside offering ventilation with a secure door from the outside. Besides lift and slide, the regular inline sliding method is available, using premium pull handles and separate locking systems.

Benefits for Installers and End Users.
For installers, the Comar sliding door range provides solutions for residential and commercial property from the UK’s largest independent systems company and trading for over fifty years.
When it comes to design, the availability of a low threshold section is a big bonus for installers.
Aluminium fabricators benefit from the reliable Comar service. First of all is the extensive stockholding and fast aluminium deliveries. Also available is the V6 Genesis software providing estimating solutions as well as production cutting lists. Comar provides extensive training to fabricators and installers helping them make and fit doors professionally. Services such as production punch presses quickly prepare and machine the stiles, rails and frames, without costly CNC machinery.
Comar doors come with excellent engineering and design. The sliding door panels come at sizes of up to 9 square metres, therefore creating large sliding glass walls and floor-to-ceiling glazing. Double or triple track options allow door panels to slide to the left or to the right and creating two-thirds openings on three panel doors.
The availability of a low threshold track without having to recess into the floor makes this door particularly beneficial for those projects where a low but not absolutely flush level is required.
Doors available with double or triple glazing, acoustic glass, integral blinds and up to 57mm glass units.
The full range of RAL colours, anodised finishes, dual colours and special colours.
Every Comar product integrates fully with other windows and doors including ground floor screens, curtain walling and facade glazing.
Simplified fabrication and specification.
Both inline and lift and slide options use the same profiles. For end-users, this provides matching doors with different functionality. Fabricators benefit from less stockholding and simpler material processing.
Therefore, processing and selling the doors is easy as aesthetics and major components remain the same. Lift/Slide and inline doors offer similar high specifications, thermal performance and security.
Slim or standard patio door interlocks.
The 89mm interlock is suitable for taller doors needing greater structural integrity and weight-bearing capability. An Optional slim interlock at 51mm meets the requirements of most residential installations while maximising the glass area and improving the U-Values down to 1.4Wm2K.
Also helping with thermal performance is extra foam insulation for both the primary door sections as well as the track. For a standard CEN size set of doors with high specification glass and Comar’s Enhanced Thermal Foam doors achieve even lower U-Values of 0.74 Wm2K.
Door panels go up to 400kg in weight with this option. Subject to design and specification, these doors fit structural openings of up to 12 metres wide.
Certified security and Secured by Design.
New-build developments and security-conscious homeowners recognise the importance of certified security. Comar doors meet Secured by Design BREEAM Assessments and Document Q. The Comar 7P.i LS+sliding door comes tested to PAS24:2016 and holds a Kite-mark for Enhanced Security having a Double Track Security Interlock Option. Therefore, installers benefit from an SBD Licensed product to discerning customers.
